Stewart L. Cohen, Esq

Whether in the courtroom or the community, Stewart L. Cohen has worked relentlessly as an advocate on behalf of his clients for over thirty seven years. Mr. Cohen is a shareholder in the firm of Cohen, Placitella & Roth, P.C. with offices throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and he focuses his practice on complex civil litigation, including personal injury, environmental and class actions. His skill as a trial lawyer has resulted in a long record of successes including a “Top 100 Jury Verdict in the United States”, a “Top 20 Recovery” in New Jersey, and the “Top Verdict and Settlement” in Pennsylvania in 2013.

Mr. Cohen was appointed six times by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court to serve in various roles for the Disciplinary Board, where he served as Board Chair through April 2013. He also served as President of the Board of the Brain Injury Association of Pennsylvania, and as an officer and member of the Board of United Cerebral Palsy. He was appointed by Lower Merion Township to serve on its the Planning Commission and Environmental Advisory Board. He has also been appointed to serve on the Judicial Selection Commissions for the judges and magistrates in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Mr. Cohen was awarded the “Distinguished Alumni Award” by Pennsylvania State University in 2006, and was also honored to be a commencement speaker at his alma matter in 2008. Mr. Cohen is an alumni of and has lectured at Temple University’s Beasley School of Law, and he is a frequent lecturer at Harvard Medical School programs.
